Fandagorn

« A proud and indomitable people, forged by hardship and imbued with the spirit of the lion.»

Capital: Geltanne

Ruler: King Régis

Government: Monarchy

Climate: Temperate

Distinguishing Feature: Formidable warriors of indomitable courage.

Like Kaasalia, Fandagorn lies on the continent of Sudalya. Its inhabitants are a proud people, possessed of remarkable fortitude in the face of the hardships they have endured over the centuries.

Alongside Feris and Kaasalia, the Kingdom of Fandagorn was one of the driving forces behind peace on the continent. But the price they paid was a heavy one. Of King Régis's four children, only the youngest, still an infant, survived the war.

The kingdom's emblem is a roaring lion, symbolizing the courage and determination of the Fandagornians. Lions still roam among the peaks of White Fang, the highest mountain in the kingdom, far to the north. These animals are sacred, and anyone who kills one for any reason other than self-defense is sentenced to death.

Major Locations:

Geltanne: Capital of the kingdom and home to the royal castle. Its prosperity owes much to the Fratt River, which large flat-bottomed trading barges travel upstream from the coast, laden with goods from distant and sometimes exotic lands.

Important Figures:

King Régis: The current ruler of Fandagorn. At 68, he rules with an iron will and is fiercely protective of Prince Ptéris, his only surviving child. Since peace was restored, he has devoted himself to rebuilding the kingdom's prosperity so that he may leave his son a strong nation when he ascends the throne.

Prince Ptéris: King Régis's youngest son, Ptéris is the last of his siblings still alive, his brothers having all perished during the war. At 17, he is eager to prove himself, especially in the eyes of a father who continually shields him from danger.
